Alma Bush

Mrs. Bush was born June 9, 1926 in Dallas, Texas, the daughter of the late Jesse (Cheshire) and James Robert Edens. She passed away Tuesday, September 10, 2013 in a local hospital.

She excelled in academics and swimming in high school. She earned an associate’s degree in accounting when she was 51 years old. She and Evonne Blackwell established the first women’s accounting firm in Corsicana, Texas. She and Mr. Bush owned and operated convenience stores in West and Corsicana, Texas. She was an assistant county auditor for Angelina County from 2007 until July, 2013. Mrs. Bush loved living on Cedar Creek Lake and enjoyed her trips to casinos.

Survivors include daughter, Linda Chudej and husband Bob of Lufkin; daughter, Cynthia Mancuso and husband, Dominick of Waco; son, Jeff Bush and wife Christine of Brooklyn, NY; grandchildren, Laura Zylstra and husband, Carl of Lufkin; Kelly Noe and husband, Randy of Lufkin; Rachael Mancuso of New Orleans; Amber Buchanan and husband, Matt of Georgetown; Casey Mancuso of Frisco; Josh Mancuso of Waco; Henry Bush of Brooklyn, NY; 8 great-grandchildren; and her dog, Dolly and her cat, Kitty.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, RD Bush; son, Richard David Bush; and sister, Pauline Jones.
