Funeral services for April Christine Reese, 35, of Nacogdoches, Texas will be held Wednesday, July 6, 2022 at 11:00 a.m. in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Rev. Wayne Clark officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park in Lufkin, Texas.
April was born December 17, 1986 in Little Rock, Arkansas to Evette Christine McWha and Charles Rain. She passed away Saturday, June 25, 2022 in the Nacogdoches Medical Center.
April was a loving wife and daughter. She held a Bachelor’s Degree in business administration from Wayland University. She was a teacher at Voss Elementary in Boerne, Texas, where she worked with special needs children. She had a wonderful sense of humor, and always had a smile on her face. April loved to draw and work with her planner. She was always prepared for anything regardless of the situation. “Christy” was a shining light and a most beloved child.
Survivors include her husband, Jared Reese of Nacogdoches, Texas; mother, Evette McWha Mikel of Little Rock, Arkansas; brother, John Henry McWha of Austin, Texas; grandparents, Robert and Connie McWha of Boerne, Texas; uncle, Robert McWha III of San Antonio, Texas. She also leaves behind her beloved dog, Yuna, who she loved very much.
The family will welcome friends and loved ones from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at the funeral home.
Services have been placed in the trust of Gipson Funeral Home.
