Mass of Christian Burial for Bernardino “Lino” Acevedo, 69, of Lufkin, will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, October 29, 2022 at St. Andrew the Apostle Catholic Church with Fr. Joby Thomas, M.S.,celebrant. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Rosary will be recited at 7 p.m. Friday evening in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with the family receiving friends and loved ones from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.
Bernardino was born on May 20, 1953 in Mexico, son to the late Herminia Ibarra and Juan Acevedo. He passed away October 25, 2022 in a local hospital.
Mr. Acevedo was a loving husband, father, and grandfather. He enjoyed being outdoors and gardening. Bernardino was a devoted Catholic and enjoyed spending time at church and with his family.
Survivors include wife, Francisca Acevedo of Lufkin; daughters, Leticia Acevedo and husband Aaron, Martha Acevedo, and Beatrice Acevedo all of Lufkin; grandchildren Tanya, Diego Jr., Star, Hailey, Jaython, Maraville, Adrian, Emily, and Arnoldo Jr.; great-grandchildren, Diego III, Drako, Eliyanah, Kyro; brothers, Jose, Luciano, Benito, Anacleto, Angel, Francisco, and Herminio; sisters, Petra Padilla, and Maria Cordero, and numerous nieces and nephews.
