

Bernice Arnold, 95, of Lufkin, was born November 19, 1916 in Mansfield, Louisiana, the daughter of the late Alice (Laffitte) and Ben Alexander. She passed away Tuesday, April 17, 2012 in a Nacogdoches nursing facility.
Mrs. Arnold was a happy and fun-loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. She enjoyed life and was never seen without a smile on her face. She spent many weekends camping and loved to travel. She was a member of the Garden Club. Mrs. Arnold was a member of Lufkin's First Baptist Church.
Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, Doris and Dr. Glen French of Beaumont, Priscilla and Malcolm Fletcher of Clear Lake, and Diane Arnold and William Frazier of Houston; grandsons, Mike French, Mark French and wife Beth and Todd French and wife Brandy; 7 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great grandchild; and a number of other family members and friends.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Arnold was preceded in death by her beloved husband, L. J. "Sonny" Arnold, Jr.
Pallbearers will be her grandsons and great-grandsons, Mike French, Mark French, Todd French, Drew French, Collin French, Logan French and Dylan French.
Services for Mrs. Arnold will be held at 3:00 p.m. Friday, April 20, 2012 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Raymond Dunkin officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Friday afternoon at Gipson Funeral Home.
