Betty Louise Hancock, 87, of Lufkin, was born January 27, 1924, in Enid, Oklahoma, the daughter of the late Opha (Beckerdite) and Daniel R. McQuilkin. She passed away Monday, May 16, 2011 in Henderson.
Mrs. Hancock was retired from Lufkin State School as a registered nurse. She was a devoted wife for 57 years to Henry Hurshel Hancock. Mrs. Hancock enjoyed gardening, working with flowers, and quilting.
Survivors include her sister, Bonnie Jean Beason of Missouri; nieces and nephews, Robert Dan McQuilkin of Huntington, Emmie Kubik of Henderson, Lois Black of Houston, Jimmy Hancock of Lufkin and Barbara O'Quinn of Lufkin; and a number of other family members and friends.
Mrs. Hancock was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Henry Hurshel Hancock; and brother, Robert James McQuilkin.
Services for Mrs. Hancock will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, May 18, 2011 in the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park, with Bro. Calvin Hancock officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
