

He was a loving husband, father and grandfather. He retired after 30 years from Anheuser Busch, having worked in sales and marketing. For a couple of years, he worked at Academy in Lufkin behind the gun counter. His passions were guns and his grandchildren. He was a member of Brother’s Keeper Church in Huntington. Mr. Houston served his country for three years in the United States Army.
Survivors include his wife of almost 50 years, Beverly Houston, of Lufkin; daughters and sons-in-law, Tamara and Jeff McNickle of Gallatin, MO and Michelle and Tom Burden of Warrensburg, MO; mother, Margie Houston of Hemphill; four grandchildren, Christopher McNickle, Aaron McNickle, Patrick McNickle and Tess Burden; sister and brother-in-law, Monica Whaley and Randy of Hillsboro, MO; and brother and sister-in-law, Jerry Houston and Fran of Florida.
In addition to his father, he is preceded in death by daughter, Kelly Mahone; and two puppies, Gypsy and Bear.
A memorial service will be scheduled at a later date.
