Billy Ray Gibson

Billy was born on September 14, 1926 in Nacogdoches County to

Roger M. Gibson, Sr. and Lonie Norris Gibson, and died January 24, 2015 in a local nursing facility.

Billy loved to garden and grew beautiful tomatoes and he loved to rake leaves in his yard. He loved to fish and would fish all day. He liked the outdoors. He loved old western movies and when younger, he would walk to town on Saturday to Roy Rogers or Gene Autry movies. Billy worked years ago with Angelina Tree Service.

Survivors include his sister and husband, Jo Ann and Denton McCoy of Lufkin; nephews, Mike Weaver of Lufkin and Richard Weaver of Deer Park; niece Debbie Dixon of Pollok and numerous great-nephews and great-nieces.

In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by his niece, Brenda Weaver Adkison.

Our family is grateful to Southland Healthcare for their love and kindness to Billy during his five years of living there and also to Heart-to-Heart Hospice.
