Billy W. Weaver Sr.

Mr. Weaver was born in Huntington, TX and graduated from Lufkin High School. He worked for W. C. Royle Typewriter for 20 years. He worked for American Color Graphics for 25 years. Mr. Weaver joined the Army National Guard in 1955 and was called for active duty in 1961. Mr. Weaver also worked for Memorial Health System of East Texas for 10 years. He married Merle McNeil on November 30, 1962. He was a charter member of Herty Baptist Church for 65 years and served as a deacon. He was a former RA Director for Unity Baptist Association. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. He loved football and all sports. He attended ballgames in Hudson, Lufkin and Zavalla,in support of his grandchildren. He loved his church and family, especially the grandchildren.

Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Merle (McNeil) Weaver of Lufkin; daughter and son-in-law, Lisa and Joe Harbuck of Hudson; son and daughter-in-law, Billy and Lynn Weaver of Zavalla; grandchildren, Meagan and Morgan Harbuck, Caitlin, Courtney and Christian Weaver; sister-in-law and brother-in-law, Nora and Frank Hargis of Lufkin; sisters-in-law, Faye Weaver of Livingston, Judy McNeil of Lufkin and Sue Littlefield of Amarillo; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.

Mr. Weaver was preceded in death by his parents and brother, Charles Weaver.

Pallbearers will be Hershel Shoemaker, Speedy Marze, Jerry Williams, Allen Loggins, Jr., Ronald McNeil, Jeff Permenter and Ryan Hassell.

Honorary pallbearers will be deacons of Herty Baptist Church.

Services for Mr. Weaver will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, October 29, 2011 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Kim Bartel and Bro. Jacob Fitzgerald officiating. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
