O’ma was the heart and soul of our family – the keeper of traditions, the giver of the warmest hugs, and the light that shined in every room she entered. She was the proud and loving matriarch of a big, beautiful family, blessed with countless grandchildren who adored her with all their hearts.

She taught us the beauty of slowing down, the importance of showing up, and the power of unconditional love. Her laughter filled our homes, her traditions filled our calendars, and her legacy fills our hearts.

She is preceded in death by her beloved husband, Bert Lefler, “O’pa”; son, Burton Jones; grandchildren, David Davis and Shannon Reynolds; great-child, Landon Thomas; parents, Will and Lila “Stringer” Weeks; and siblings, J.E. Weeks, Brooks Weeks, Edna Cooper, and Rachel Cramer.

She is survived by daughters, Mittie Ray of Zavalla, Jackie and Dean Wesley of Hudson, Mindy Jones of Lufkin; son and daughters-in-law, Delbert and Vicki Jones of Huntington, Martin and Pam Jones of Pollok, Robert and Kay Jones of Zavalla; sisters, Joyce Phillips of Huntington, Frances Roach of Breckenridge, Rebecca Alred of Lufkin; and one brother, Bronson Weeks of Splendora. She also leaves behind 12 grandchildren, 19 great-grandchildren, and 11 great-great-grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 22, 2025, Tuesday evening from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Gipson Funeral Home in Lufkin. Graveside service will be held at the Zavalla Cemetery at 10:00 a.m.

Though we will miss her every day, we find peace knowing she is watching over us – her love still guiding us, just as it always has.

The family has asked that in lieu of flowers, donations be made to Harbor Hospice, 402 S. John Redditt Drive, Suite 203 Lufkin, Texas 75904.
