Mr. Ivy graduated from Lufkin High School in 1960 and attended Stephen F. Austin State University. He retired from Southland Paper Mill after 43 years of service, and continued working at Scott & White in Killeen for 7 years. During his years of service at Southland, he never had a lost time accident, served on the safety committee, and worked on the hiring committee. He was a longtime member of Lufkin Masonic Lodge #669, A.F. & A.M. and a proud member of I.A.M. Local #1808. His love of people led him to donate many hours of teaching at the Adult Learning Center. One of his greatest gifts was helping others by sharing the knowledge he had gained throughout his life. Boyd was a member of Denman Avenue Baptist Church, where he had served as a deacon. He was an extraordinary example of kindness, patience, honesty, and hard work.
