It is with deep sorrow, yet profound love, that we announce the passing of Brian Van Hillhouse. Born on April 6, 1989, and welcomed into eternal rest on August 2, 2025. Brian’s 36 years were filled with kindness, music, faith, and unwavering love for his family and friends. His children were the treasures he held closest to his heart.
Brian touched the hearts of many with his gentle spirit, quiet strength, and warm, shy smile. He found joy in the simple things: strumming his guitar, singing to those he loved, and casting a fishing line whenever he had the chance. A born-again Christian, Brian lived each day with a humble heart and a desire to serve others. His compassion, patience, and willingness to lend a helping hand left a lasting impact on everyone who knew him.
He was preceded in death by his beloved grandmother, Cheryl Rivas, and his uncle, Paul Ray Vaughn.
He is lovingly survived by his wife, Autumn Hillhouse; his children, Noah and Natalie Hillhouse; his parents, Robert and Traci Doan; his siblings, Michael Hillhouse and Jessica Tant; his grandparents, Rudy and Elvie Vaughn; his uncle, Eric Vaughn; and his aunt, Sophia Vaughn, as well as many other loving family members and cherished friends who became like family.
A Celebration of Brian’s Life will be held on August 8th at 5:30 p.m. at First Baptist Church of Colmesneil. All who knew and loved him are invited to attend and share in honoring the beautiful life he lived. Though our hearts are heavy, we give thanks for every moment we were blessed to share with Brian. His legacy of love, faith, and gentle kindness will live on in all of us who had the joy of knowing him.
