

Services for Buel Eldon Davidson, 83, will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, June 1, 2015 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. John Nelson officiating. Interment will follow at the Bennett Cemetery.
He was born in Apple Springs, TX and grew up in the Antioch Community. He was born the fifth child and third son of the late Lothard Lee and Willie Ola (Thames) Davidson on February 12, 1932.
Mr. Davidson graduated from Centerville High School as salutatorian of his class in 1951. He worked at Brookshire Brother’s, T. L. Smith, Borden Milk Company and Speedy’s for a number of years. He proudly served his country in the United States Army during the Korean Conflict and was honorably discharged in 1954. He enjoyed dancing. He was a faithful sports fan and attended countless games. In his later life his TV was always set on the sport channels. He was a member of Scrub Creek Baptist Church.
He is survived by three sisters; Deffie Sibley of Hurst, TX, Wanda Rhoden of Jewett, TX and Barbara Clark and husband, Joe, of Hallettsville, TX; brother, Charles Pat Davidson of Lufkin, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a sister, Leola Wells and two brothers, Olen Davidson and J. O. (Junior) Davidson; sister-in-law, Peggy (Davidson) Fuller; three brothers-in-law, Homer Sibley, Murray Wells and Pete Rhoden; niece, Rita Joyce Rhoden and; one
great-nephew, Derick Paul Sibley.
Pallbearers are Max Due, Lee Due, Jerry Rhoden, Glen Sibley, Rod Sibley and James Dearing.
Memorial contributions may be made to Centerville High School Ex-Students Association Scholarship Fund, Rt. 1, Groveton, TX or to a charity of your choice.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Sunday,
May 31, 2015, at Gipson Funeral Home.
