Mass of Christian Burial for Catarino Garcia, 93, of Lufkin will be celebrated at 11AM on Tuesday, January 14, 2025 at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church. Mr. Garcia will be laid to rest at Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mr. Garcia was born November 25, 1931 in Rio Coahuila, MX, son of the late Juana (Reyes) and Mauricio Garcia. He passed away Sunday, January 5, 2025 in his residence.
Catarino was very family oriented, docile, kind, understanding, conformist, loving, and had all the patience in the world. He never met a stranger, and his grandchildren were his world. Catarino enjoyed going to the bus stop to pick up his grandchildren after school and always had stories to tell. He worked as a railway man all of his life. He enjoyed music.
Survivors include children, Hugo Garcia and Maria D. of Lufkin, Mauricio Garcia and Maricela of Lufkin, Norma Rodriguez and Bob Pateo of Lufkin, and Ruth Palos and Antonio of Lufkin; grandchildren, Victor Hugo Garcia Jr., Yazkara Jasmine Garcia, Sol Bailey, Isaias Rodriguez Jr., Alex Rodriguez, Samantha Garcia, Anthony Palos, Mauricio Garcia Jr., Christian Palos, Allison Garcia, and Dominic Palos; great-grandchildren, Trey Garcia, Rene Garcia, Dia Bailey, Aiden Andres Rodriguez, Rey Ramirez, Chiia Lawson, Adrian Rodriguez, Sophia Palos, Mia Palos, Kylo Anthony Palos, Noel Alexander Rodriguez, and Zachary Bailey; and numerous other relatives.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife, Cesaria Garcia; sons, Alvaro Garcia, Catarino Garcia Jr., Gabriel Garcia, and Mauricio Garcia; siblings, Ramon Segura, Alicia Garcia and Brijida Garcia.
Pallbearers will be Mauricio Garcia Jr., Victor Hugo Garcia Jr., Isaias Rodriguez Jr., Anthony Palos, Christian Palos, and Antonio Palos.
The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Monday evening at the funeral home. Rosary will follow at 7:00 p.m.
