At the age of 18, Charles made his home at the Lufkin State School, where he became part of a caring and supportive community. He touched the lives of those around him with his gentle spirit, bright smile, and deep love for life’s simple joys.
Charles had a special love for music—especially the soulful voice of Charley Pride. His days were often filled with melodies and rhythms that brought him happiness. He also had a deep affection for animals and shared a special bond with his beloved dog, Lady Girl. Biscuits and gravy were his absolute favorite meal, and he never turned down the chance to enjoy them.
Charles is survived by his parents, Laverne and Charles Adams; his brother Sam Adams and wife Missy; his sister Neni Newman and husband Rick; and his three nephews: Daniel, Josh, and Justin. He was deeply loved by his family and all who knew him, and his memory will be cherished always.
A visitation and reception will be held on Monday, July 21, 2025, from 1:00 to 2:00 p.m. at Gipson Funeral Home in Lufkin, followed by a funeral service at 2:00 p.m. Charles will be laid to rest at Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Though his journey was not always easy, Charles lived with great love and resilience. His memory will forever be a blessing.
