Services for Charles S. Woolman, 61, of Huntington, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, March 16, 2018 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Bro. Marlow Shubert officiating.. Mr. Woolman was born October 21, 1956 in Lake Charles, Louisiana, the son of the late Elnora (Stakes) and Earl Lee Woolman. He passed away Friday, March 9, 2018 in a local hospital. Mr. Woolman was a loving husband, daddy, paw paw and great-paw paw. He served in the United States Air Force for 22 years and retired as Senior Master Sergeant. He was a “Jack of all Trades” and loved to cook, especially breads and desserts, mainly pumpkin pie. He had an abounding love for his family and country, and he was the Lufkin Mall Santa for 5 years. Mr. Woolman was a member of Ora Missionary Baptist Church and a former Ora Volunteer Fireman. He also enjoyed motorcycles and air planes. Survivors include his wife of 14 years, Star “Dustie” Woolman of Huntington; daughters and sons-in-law, Joy and Michael Courtney of Longview, Washington, Julie and Ricky McClelland of Bronson, and Amanda and Matt Mullin of Lufkin; sons and daughters-in-law, Charles C. and Michelle Woolman of Plainville, Kansas, Trey and Candice Matchett of Nacogdoches, and CJ and Brittney Matchett of Cedar Springs, Michigan; son, Robert Matchett of Huntington; daughter, Jamee Fowler of Huntington; 17 grandchildren; 2 great-grandchildren; 2 brothers, Walter and Reesa Woolman of Lake Charles, Louisiana and Warren and Jane Woolman of Pasadena; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a granddaughter. Honorary pallbearers will be Charles C. Woolman, Trey Matchett, CJ Matchett, Robert Matchett, Matt Mullin, Michael Courtney, Ricky McClelland, Dustyn Sifford, Aaron McClelland, Jefferson Holbrook and Dalton Woolman. The family will receive friends from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. Friday prior to the service at the funeral home.
