Mr. Stevens graduated from high school in Franklin, New Hampshire. He graduated from college in Boston, Massachusetts and graduated from a 2-year business college in Boston. He joined the Navy Air Force for 10 years and worked for Fairbanks Scale for 15 years. He lived in Lufkin for 6 years, moving from Toledo Bend, Louisiana. He enjoyed building model airplanes and cars. He loved his family. His favorite pets were cats. Mr. Stevens was a member of Porter United Pentecostal Church in Porter, Texas.
Survivors include his wife, Dolores Fern Jones Stevens of Lufkin; and her children.
Mr. Stevens was preceded in death by his parents.
Graveside services for Mr. Stevens will be held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday, September 20, 2012 in the Houston National Cemetery, with Reverend Harry Howell and Reverend Jerry Green officiating.
The family will receive friends from 3:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon at Gipson Funeral Home.
