

Funeral service for Connie Hall of Lufkin will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, May 19, 2026, at St. Cyprian’s Episcopal Church 919 S. John Redditt Dr. Lufkin, Tx, 75904. Interment will be held Thursday, May 21, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at the Blanco Cemetery.
Connie Hall was born May 10, 1933, in Rock Springs, Texas, daughter of the late Anne Taylor Hill and Luther Henry Hill. She passed away Monday, May 11, 2026.
Constance enjoyed reading and volunteering with the Lufkin Public Library. She earned both her Bachelor of Arts and Master’s degrees from Stephen F. Austin State University and later received her Ph.D. in English from Texas A&M University. A dedicated scholar and accomplished writer, she was a published author who devoted her life to literature, education, and lifelong learning.
Connie will be sorely missed and dearly remembered by her family and friends for her quick wit, rapier intelligence, fun-loving spirit and generosity
Survivors include her children, Julie Elizabeth Hall and Martha McNab Hall, and her husband, Scott Landers and step-son, Steve Hogue and his wife, Sally Hogue; grandchildren, Kyle Hall-Landers and Casey Hall-Landers; and numerous other relatives.
She is preceded in death by her daughter, Cynthia Taylor, first husband, Charles W. Hall, Jr., and second husband, Dr. Nash Hogue.
Pallbearers will be Joseph Thompson, Carter Thompson, James Thompson, Steve Hogue, Scott Landers, and Kyle Hall-Landers.
The family has requested that in, donations be made to the Lufkin Kurth Memorial Library, 706 S Raguet St, Lufkin, TX 75904.
