

Services for Curtis “Peanut” Aldredge, 84, of Lufkin, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, April 14, 2015 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Horace Fletcher officiating. Interment will follow in Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mr. Aldredge was born June 15, 1930, the son of the late Lurline (Robinson) and Eli Aldredge. He passed away April 11, 2015 in a local hospital.
Mr. Aldredge was born in Lufkin and graduated from Lufkin High School. He married Helen Kennedy on June 9, 1950 and began working at Southwestern Bell Telephone Company. He was a service technician and retired after 39 years. He was an avid sports fan, especially football. He loved his family and enjoyed visiting friends in the nursing homes. Mr. Aldredge was a member of Parkview Baptist Church.
Survivors include his sons and daughter-in-law, Curtis C. Aldredge and Kay of Pollok and David W. Aldredge of Lufkin; grandchildren, Brandie Richard and husband Jeff, Jennifer Aldredge and David Curtis Aldredge; and great-grandchildren, Justin Warren and Jackson Richard.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Helen Kennedy Aldredge; brothers, Corbett Aldredge and Cleo Aldredge; and sister, LaVone Craft.
Pallbearers will be Kelly Vest, Jason Vest, David Curtis Aldredge, Charles “Chuck” Childress, Pete Cooper and Billy Quine.
Honorary pallbearer will be Justin Warren.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday
evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
