Doris Ann Jones, of Helmic, Texas, passed away Monday, May 16, 2022 at the age of 62. Doris was born in the State of Oklahoma on August 28, 1959 to the late Billie (Alice) Faircloth and Joe Thrailkill.
Doris resided at E Wego Road in Lufkin and later in Helmic, Texas. She was married to the “Love of her Life” and only true love, Tommy Wayne Jones on August 12, 1977. Doris worked for the Lufkin State School with her mother, “Alice” for many years and then trained to become a certified beautician, later to retire, stay home and take care of her family and Tommy.
After Tommy’s passing, she worked for Brookshire Bros. in Apple Springs, where she always greeted customer with a smile and laughter for 6 years until health problems caused her to retire.
DORIS LOVED ANIMALS! She loved her chicken coop and taking care of her hens and roosters. She loved squirrels and adopted them. She and Tommy had many dogs that were like family. Doc, Festus, Bandit, Luke and Zip were just a few of the names that they cared for. And yes, they truly loved all of their children. Toys packed the house.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Casey and Amy Jones of Central; brother and sister-in-law, Joe and Jen Thrailkill of Bowie; sisters, Rose Hall and Billie Joe Morgan and husband Michael, all of Jacksonville, Florida; stepdaughter, Stephanie Jones of Lufkin; and a number of nieces, nephews, other relatives, and friends.
