Funeral services for Dorothy Leona (Stephenson) Price, 86, of Huntington will be held Friday, August 3, 2018 at 2:00 p.m. at Gipson Funeral Home in Lufkin, Texas. Interment will follow at Mt Hope Cemetery in Wells, Texas.
Mrs. Price was born May 6, 1932 in Wells, Texas and was the only child of J.B. and Leona Willard (McGuire) Stephenson. She died on July 31, 2018 in Lufkin, Texas.
Mrs. Price was a graduate of Wells High School. She married Willis G. Price in 1953 and became an Air Force wife, traveling with her husband and their two children around the country. Following Willis’ retirement from the Air Force, the family returned to their native East Texas, where they settled in Huntington. Dorothy was a talented homemaker who excelled at baking and served as a beloved wife, mother, and grandmother. She had a knack for attracting friends wherever she went and was a loving, vibrant, positive force to all who knew her.
Dorothy is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Saundra and Eugene May of Huntington; and her granddaughter and grandson-in-law, Meredith May and Travis Lipscomb of Longview.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband of 62 years and their son, Michael Price.
The family would like to extend a special thank you to the staff at Huntington Health Care and Rehabilitation Center.
