Elaine L. Howard

Mrs. Howard lived in Lufkin for 51 years before moving back to Sabine County. She enjoyed cooking for her family and quilting. She was a homemaker and was of the Baptist faith.

She is survived by her daughter and son-in-law, Cynthia and Don Johnson of Rosevine; son and daughter-in-law, Ricky and Emily Howard of Lufkin; sister, Mildred Courtney of San Augustine; daughter-in-law, Donna Howard of Lufkin; 7 grandchildren; 16 great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces, nephews and cousins.

She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, James Jefferson Howard, Sr.; son, James Jefferson Howard, Jr.; and brothers and sisters. Services for Mrs. Howard will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, November 12, 2010 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Horace Fletcher officiating. Interment will follow in the Fairview Cemetery.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Thursday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
