Eldon Eugene Moffett, 86, of Lufkin, was born December 21, 1924 in Citronelle, Alabama, the son of the late Edith Virginia (Powell) and James Buchanan Moffett. He passed away Friday, October 21, 2011 in a local nursing facility.
Mr. Moffett graduated from Citronelle High School on May 28, 1943 and worked for Champion Paper Company in Lufkin for 30 years. He was of the Baptist Faith.
Survivors include his wife, June Moffett of Lufkin; daughter, Karla Moffett of Lufkin; grandsons, Kristopher and Lloyd Moffett of Lufkin; and sister, Mrs. May Boutwell of Mobile, Alabama.
Mr. Moffett was preceded in death by his daughter, Barbara Kathleen Moffett; parents, James and Edith Moffett; brothers, James Woodard Moffett, Thomas Edgar Moffett, Charles Dewey Moffett, and Andrew Jackson Moffett; and sisters, Edith Ettalee Turner and Beaulah Mae Denman.
Graveside services for Mr. Moffett will be held at 10:00 a.m. Tuesday, October 25, 2011 in the Gann Cemetery, with Bro. Eddie Ballard officiating.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
