Services for Roy Louviere, 90, of Lufkin, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Thursday, April 18, 2019 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Blackie Cranford officiating. Interment will follow in the Gann Cemetery.
Mr. Louviere was born November 24, 1928 in Jeanerette, Louisiana, the son of the late Constance (Derise) and Eli Louviere. He passed away Sunday, April 14, 2019 in a local hospice facility.
Mr. Louviere was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather. He enjoyed being outdoors, making birdhouses, fishing, golfing, working with metals and he loved to cook. Mr. Louviere proudly served his country in the United States Marines.
Survivors include his wife of 52 years, Eunice McComb (Green) Louviere of Lufkin; daughters, Martrecia Louviere of Amarillo, Sherry Wilson and Sara Marley, both of Lufkin; grandson, Chris Halford of Amarillo; granddaughters, Cassie Knapp and husband Davey and Katey Halford, all of Amarillo; and 4 great-grandchildren; and a number of nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, Mr. Louviere was preceded in death by 3 brothers and 2 sisters.
Pallbearers will be Tommy Louviere, James “Jim” Ryan, Sam Smith, Davey Knapp, Royce Oliver and David Louviere.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Wednesday evening at the funeral home.
