

Elsie Nichols, 89, of Huntington, was born February 18, 1923 in Porterville, California, the daughter of the late Goldie Belle (Wagner) and James Russell Ulery. She passed away Wednesday, July 18, 2012 in a local nursing facility.
Mrs. Nichols was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She was a member of First United Pentecostal Church and served as bookkeeper and secretary at her church for many years. She enjoyed cooking, working crossword puzzles, canning, and crocheting.
Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Mark Lloyd and Cynthia Nichols of Zavalla; daughters and sons-in-law, Janet and William (Bill) Glover of Huntington and Patricia Ann and Joey Rocka of Lufkin; 6 grandchildren; 7 great-grandchildren; brother and sister-in-law, James Albert and Jacqueline Ulery of Salem, Oregon; brother, Carl Wagner of Nevada; sisters and brothers-in-law, Midge and Milton Zirlott of Coden, Alabama and Evelyn and Don Knapp of Coeur d'Alene, Idaho; special niece, Becky McKee; and a number of nieces, nephews, and other family members.
In addition to her parents; Mrs. Nichols was preceded in death by her husband, Marvin Andrew Nichols and sister, Betty Lou Ulery.
Pallbearers will be Wayne Hodges, Mike Puryear, Perry Zirlott, Ricky Sockwell, Justin Haverland and Gerry Haverland.
Services for Mrs. Nichols will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday in the First United Pentecostal Church, with Reverend R. G. "Bud" Davis and Reverend Karl Smith officiating. Interment will follow in the Sims/Rocky Hill Cemetery.
The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
