Emma Jean Sanders

Emma Jean Sanders, 104, was born September 5, 1907 in Whitney, Texas, the daughter of the late Georgia (Simmons) and William M. Ferguson. She passed away Saturday, July 28, 2012 in a Huntington nursing facility.

Mrs. Sanders was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother and great-great grandmother. She was a grandmother to all the area kids. She enjoyed gardening, sewing and crocheting. Mrs. Sanders was a member of Ora Baptist Church.

Survivors include her daughter, Georgia Kirwan of Huntington; great-granddaughter, Valerie Cree of Huntington; great-great- granddaughter, Kristina Moak; great-great-great granddaughters, Lillianna Marie Cree and Julie Cree; nephew, Gerald Fulsom; and numerous other family members.

Mrs. Sanders was preceded in death by her parents; husband, Charles W. Sanders; son, Jerry Sanders; granddaughter, Rebecca Cree; great granddaughter, Cynthia Cree; and great-great granddaughter, Georgiana Cree.

Graveside services for Mrs. Sanders will be held at 10:00 a.m. Sunday, July 29, 2012 in the Huntington Cemetery.
