Visitation and service for Esteban Castro,86, of Diboll, Texas will be held Tuesday November 5, 2024, at 10am at Oakley Metcalf Funeral Home with Deacon Jesus Reyes officiating. Interment will follow at Forest Haven Cemetery in Diboll.
Mr. Castro was born September 15, 1938, in Mexico, son to the late Andrea Sandoval and Daniel Castro and on November 1, 2024, after a long battle finally gained his wings to be with the Lord and his daughter Imelda Buenrostro, who he lost several years before.
Esteban was beyond the most kind, loving and admirable man you could ever meet. He met no stranger and could instantly put a smile on anyone’s face. His greatest accomplishments in life were not just the children he brought to this earth but the grandchildren that followed. He had more love for all his grandchildren than anything else and spending time with them was nothing but pure happiness for him. Esteban retired from Temple-Inland after years of hard work and dedication.
Survivors include his wife, Hilda Castro of Diboll, TX; sons, Mario Castro and wife, Josefina, of Diboll, TX, and Armando Castro and wife, Sara, of Lufkin, TX; daughters, Elva DeJesus and husband, Alfonso, of Diboll, TX, Araceli Martinez, and husband, Jaime, of Diboll, TX, and Nidia Castro of Diboll, TX; Hilda and husband Hector Meza of Diboll;14 grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren; brother, Alfredo Castro and wife, Lina, of McAllen, TX; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Pallbearers will be Christan de Jesus, Jaime Martinez, Julian Martinez, Juan Martinez, Esteban Martinez, and Hector Meza Jr.
