Flora Belle Fenley Allen Simms

Services for Flora Belle Fenley Allen Simms, 95, of Pollok, were held on Friday, December 14, 2012 in the Gipson Funeral Services for Flora Belle Fenley Allen Simms, 95, of Pollok, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, December 14, 2012 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Josh Reneau and Bro. Ray Pinner officiating. Interment will follow in the Gann Cemetery.

Mrs. Simms was born on January 23, 1917 in Allentown, Texas, the daughter of the late Lora May (Allen) and Gilbert J. Fenley. She passed away Wednesday, December 12, 2012 in a local hospital.

Mrs. Simms loved her family and enjoyed being with her friends. She had worked in hotels as a manager. She enjoyed painting, reading, and working at her church. She was a founding member of Allentown United Pentecostal Church. She was a member of First United Pentecostal Church in Lufkin.

Survivors include her daughters and sons-in-law, June and Harold Tillar and LuAnn and Alec Sides, all of Lufkin; granddaughters, Janie James of California and DeReigh Sides of Lufkin, Barbara Massey of Lufkin; Melissa Crawford and husband Tim of Lufkin, DeLane Bailey and husband Darren of Bossier City, Louisiana, and Sherry Pendleton of Lufkin; grandsons, Toyia Melton of Longview, Leon McClure of Lufkin, and Carl McClure and wife Angie of Nacogdoches; 12 great-grandchildren; 10 great-great grandchildren; and a number of other family members and friends.

In addition to her parents, Mrs. Simms was preceded in death by her husband, Jewel Harrison Simms; sons, Larry Alton Allen and Mark Wayne Allen; and daughter, Janice Veneda McClure.

Pallbearers will be Brian Massey, Daniel Crawford, Carl McClure, Reverend Dub Bullard, Billy Ray Allen, and Hubert (Hoody) Morris.

Honorary pallbearers will be Andrew Meyer, Blaine Bailey and Blake Bailey.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Friday, December 14, 2012 at Gipson Funeral Home.
