Harold Ray Modisette

Services for Ray Modisette, 81, of Lufkin, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Monday, February 22, 2016 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Bobby Joe Whisenant officiating. Interment will follow at the Walker Cemetery.

He was born November 12, 1934 in Angelina County, TX and passed away February 19, 2016 in Lufkin. He was the son of the late Rena (Simms) and Aaron (Goolie) Modisette.

Mr. Modisette was a loving husband, father and brother. He retired after 25 years of service from the Angelina County Airport, where he was the manager. He loved animals and was very comical and was always pulling jokes and pranks on family and friends. He loved flowers and gardening and enjoyed hunting, fishing and cooking. He served his country in the United States Air Force. Ray was a lifetime member of Allentown Congregational Methodist Church.

Survivors include daughter and son-in-law, Jennifer and Glen Dirksmeyer of Livingston; brothers and sisters-in-law, Bernie and Louise Modisette, Kinnon and Mattie Lou Modisette, all of Lufkin; sister and brother-in-law, Wanda and David McCoy of Lufkin; mother-in-law, Mable Harbour of Lufkin; and numerous nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by his wife, Kathy Modisette; brother, Manuel Modisette; father-in-law, Cecil Harbour; and sister-in-law, Melva Modisette.

Pallbearers will be Aaron Graham, Wesley Graham, Timothy McCoy, Greag Modisette, Mack Modisette, Ricky Modisette and Ronnie Modisette.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hospice in the Pines, 1504 W. Frank Avenue, Lufkin, TX 75904; or Allentown Congregational Methodist Church Building Fund, 1995 Allentown Loop, Lufkin, TX 75904.

The family will receive friends from 5:00 p.m. to 7:00 p.m. Sunday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
