Obituary of Hollis Venson Stringer
IN THE CARE OF

Gipson Funeral Home & Garden of Memories Memorial Park

Graveside service for Hollis Stringer “Brother” will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 9, 2023 at the Gann Cemetery.

Hollis was born August 11, 1934, son of the late Ivy Lou (Bailey) and Hollis Fletcher Stringer. He passed away on Sunday, February 5, 2023 at the Kennedy Health and Rehabilitation.

Mr. Stringer was a loving father and grandfather. In his free time, he loved going to the river, fishing, and hunting. He enjoyed visiting his friends at the nursing homes.

Survivors include his daughters and sons-in-law, Cathy and Arnie Allgood of Nacogdoches, Ivy Jo and Mike Due of Lufkin, Molly Stringer and Wayne Oliver of Lufkin; son, Keith Stringer of Oklahoma; grandsons, Caleb and Kara Due, Jake and Jenna Ellis, Cullen and Erin Due; great-grandsons, Leni Due, Damon Due, Elliott Due and Evan; and brother, Chester B. Stringer.

He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Edna Stringer; and sisters, Gertrude S. Dent, Bonnie Lou McCary, and Marjonie Marie Ellington.
