Funeral service for Isaac Marion Goodwin, 84, of Lufkin, will be held at 10AM on Wednesday, January 8, 2025, at Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Pastor Vernel Bonner officiating. Interment will follow at Largent Cemetery.
Mr. Goodwin was born September 18, 1940 in Angelina County, son of the late Sarah Caroline (Hanson) and Antonie T. Goodwin. He passed away Thursday, January 2, 2025 at Parkwood in the Pines.
Isaac never met a stranger; he was always willing to help others. He was a member of TSTA and SFASU Alumni Association. He taught school for 27 years and was employed with Gipson Funeral Home for 28 years. He was a member of the Bethlehem Global Methodist Church.
Survivors include brother, B.A. Goodwin of Lufkin; nieces, Stephanie Lemke and Leah Goodwin of Lufkin; nephew, Ashley Clark; numerous cousins; special friends, Donna Smith and Spencer Brown; and his church members who he loved dearly.
He was preceded in death by his parents; siblings, Elbalena Bollier and Billy Goodwin.
The family will receive friends from 9:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. at the funeral home.
