Jackie McClendon

Jackie passed away peacefully on February 15, 2020. She was born in Lufkin, Texas on May 1, 1946, at Woodlands Heights General Hospital.

She leaves behind a daughter, Stephanie Thornton Budnick, married to John Budnick, a son, Jason Michael Emanis, married to Christina Yard Emanis, and a daughter, Crystal Lynn Dietrich, married to Dwayne Dietrich. She also leaves behind her grandchildren: Tori Michele Thornton, Ashly Nicole Thornton, Amos James Emanis, Christian Joel Emanis, Emily Dietrich, Natalie Dietrich, and Nicholas Dietrich. She also leaves behind her sisters, Martha Rhame and Betty Sue McClendon; and brother, Richard McClendon.

She was preceded in death by her mother, Mae McClendon and father, William Thomas McClendon.

She married James Emanis in 1964 and had her children, Stephanie, Jason and Crystal. She was a devoted mother and wife. She organized many family events and was elated to see her daughters and son marry and start their own families. She shared greatly in all the lives of her grandchildren and was very proud of all their accomplishments.

Jackie was a Red Hat Society member and lifted up all of her friends to reach out to others. Jackie enjoyed crafts, sewing, and party planning. She was happiest when her table was filled with children and grandchildren. She made the best biscuits, her grandsons always exclaimed. Her home and her heart was warm and inviting.

Services have been placed in the trust of Gipson Funeral Home.
