

Mr. Hathorn loved his family, especially his grandchildren. He enjoyed country dancing and umpiring for baseball. He was retired from Texas Foundry.
Survivors include his wife of 35 years, Mary Hathorn of Lufkin; son and daughter-in-law, James and Cindy Hathorn of Houston, daughter, Jamie Hathorn of Lufkin; grandchildren, Lily, Emily and Jace; brother, Dorwin Hathorn of Paradise, CA; brother and sister-in-law, Cecil and Tommye Hathorn; cousins, Jimmy and Bobbie Hathorn of Apple Springs; and a number of other family members.
Mr. Hathorn's family wishes to extend special thanks to Dr. Capellan, Dr. Lewis, Dr. Lugo, Dr. Kavitha Pinnamaneni, Heart to Heart Hospice and his special nurse's aide, Edna, for the loving care extended to him during his final illness.
Pallbearers will be Mack McClain, Jack McClain, David Gullatt, Bryan Hathorn, Roger Dale Thomas and Speedy Wells.

Services for Mr. Hathorn will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Bro. Oscar Dixon and Bro. Bob Harbuck officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park. Friends are invited to visit with the family from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Tuesday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.

James C. Hathorn, 77, of Lufkin, was born April 26, 1933 in Nogalus Prairie, Texas. He was the son of Margorie (Thomas) and Hoyt Hathorn. He passed away Monday, June 14, 2010 at his residence.
