James proudly served in the United States Army for three years and had a deep love for his country. He was a dedicated father, grandfather, and husband, and his family was the center of his world. James had a passion for western movies, fishing, hunting, and sports—particularly the Astros and Cowboys. He enjoyed spending time with his grandchildren, napping, eating out, and having conversations with family and friends. He was the best dad and grandpa, a devoted husband, and a loyal companion to his dogs.
James is survived by his children, Preston Loving, James Loving, Jr., Amanda Loving, and Kelley Finch; his grandchildren, M'Lisa Pecina, Henry Loving, Logan Loving, Izaiah Quintero, Bailey Finch, Austin Brister, Brooke Brister, Shyleigh Loving, Korbyn Finch, Hartlynn Loving, and Ashley Lopez; 8 great-grandchildren; his sister, Lavina Bullock; and numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his wife, Debra Loving; his brothers, Richard and Jesse Loving; and his parents, Edward and Ada Vee Loving.
A Gathering of Family and Friends will be held on Thursday, January 30, 2025, from 5-8 p.m. at Gipson Funeral Home. A Celebration of James’ Life will be held on Friday, January 31, 2025, at 2 p.m., followed by military honors rendered by the Army at Garden of Memories Memorial Park, where he will be laid to rest.
James will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
