Services for Jesus Aguilar, 34, of Lufkin, will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 30, 2013 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Marcos Elizondo officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitehouse Cemetery in Lufkin.
Jesus was born September 25, 1979 in Lufkin to Maria Aguilar and Jesus Aguilar, Sr., and passed away November 24, 2013.
Jesus graduated from Hudson in 1998, where he played trumpet in the band. Two years later, he married his high school sweetheart, Shelley Pouland, on February 7, 2000. Within a few months of getting married, he took a job with Frito Lay where he worked as a sales distributor until his death. His commitment was as a loving husband and father to his two precious children, which were no doubt, the light of his life. He was a devoted son, brother and son-in-law, and his nieces and nephews could not have asked for a better uncle.
Jesus was an avid Saints fan that would never willingly miss an opportunity to let someone know how much he hated the Dallas Cowboy’s. He was also a huge movie collector and never passed up an occasion to watch or re-watch a movie with his friends and family. He was considered by all that knew him to be a hard working, carefree, lovable and a very giving individual with an infectious personality.
Jesus will undoubtedly be missed by all who have had the honor of knowing him.
In addition to his parents, he is survived by his wife, Shelley Aguilar; daughter, Natalie Aguilar; son, Jakob Aguilar; grandmothers, Gregoria Aguilar and Rosa Munoz; brother and sister-in-law, Daniel and Amanda Aguilar; sister and brother-in-law, Nelly Aguilar and Dimas Esteves; mother and father-in-law, Carlton and Marcy Pouland, all of Lufkin; brothers and sisters-in-law, Brad and Angel Pouland of Houston, Chris and Susan Adams of Timpson, and Richard and Stephanie Brookshire of Lufkin; brother-in-law, Scott Pouland of Denver, CO; and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins, and many friends.
Pallbearers are Shawn Sweetwood, Lalo Castillo, Eliano Perez, Lalo Jaimes, Bryan Sanders, and Dimas Esteves.
Honorary pallbearer is Daniel Aguilar.
