Jo Ann Tucker

A sweet angel flew away home to heaven on April 22, 2013. Jo Ann is happy and free now in the welcome and loving arms of Jesus. Born in Lufkin, Texas on June 17, 1936, she resided here most of her life. She enjoyed music, going to church, making and wearing jewelry, and collecting purses and dolls. Her youthful charm delighted all who knew her and she was loved by everyone.

Jo Ann is survived by her caretaker and cousin, Leah Hanscom of Lufkin; cousins, Molly Vardeman of Huntington, Billie Styles of Lancaster, Pat McCann of Lufkin, Terry Latham of Palmer, Steve Styles of Waxahachie, Linda Nilsson, and Laura McClary of Huntington; and special cousin, Angelica Gerrer of Lufkin.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Marvin Tucker and Myrtle Tucker Latham.

The family would like to express our gratitude to Mary Williams and all of the staff at the Lufkin State Supported Living Center for their unending care, love and support during Jo's life. Jo Ann was innocent as a lamb and precious as a child to Jesus, and will be missed dearly. Peace comes to our hearts knowing there is a great celebration in heaven this day. We will meet again.

Graveside services for Jo Ann will be held at 3:30 p.m. Friday, April 26, 2013, in the Hillcrest Cemetery, with Bro. Greg Freijo officiating.

The family will receive friends from 10:30 to 12:30 Friday at Gipson Funeral Home.
