John Henry Knight

John Knight was born on December 25, 1946 in Burke, Texas, the son of the late Mable (Jackson) and Clifford Knight, Sr. He passed away Friday, June 28, 2013 in a local hospital.

Mr. Knight served his country in the United States Air Force in Vietnam. He enjoyed fishing, old Western books, and movies. He was a truck driver for over twenty years and loved to travel. He enjoyed time with his kids and grandchildren. John was a member of Grace Baptist Church.

Survivors include his wife, Deborah Knight; daughter, Rebecca Lane; daughters and sons-in-law, April and J. C. Conner, Chrystal and Mike Slauf, Johnnie and Tony Smith, Shelley and Jeff Jurgonski and Kelly and Mike Raines; grandchildren, Ashley, Jonathan, Emily, Tiffany, John, Alissia, Renee, Ian; great-grandsons, Alex and Izaiah; brothers and sister-in-law, Leo and Debbie Knight and Eddie Knight; sisters and brother-in-law, Georgia Lee and Bob Owens and Alice Sanches; and numerous nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, John was preceded in death by his brother, James Knight; sister, Lillian Forrest; brother-in-law, Sam Sanches; and nephew, Wayne Landrum.

Honorary pallbearers will be Jonathan, John, Ian, Duck, Michael, Billy Joe and Sam.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Monday evening at Gipson Funeral Home.
