

Mrs. Ainsworth was born July 31, 1942, in Angelina County, Texas, the daughter of the late Murial (Blackburn) and Clyde Jordan. She passed away Friday, July 25, 2025, in a Diboll nursing facility.
In the summer of 1956, Johnie Ruth met Travis Ainsworth at Pioneer Drive-In on the corner of Denman Avenue and Timberland Drive. That same day, Travis told his mother that he met the girl he was going to marry. Four years later, on June 24, 1960, they were wed. They have just celebrated their 65th wedding anniversary.
Mrs. Ainsworth was an outstanding educator and taught for more than 45 years with Lufkin Independent School District. She was an avid reader and taught First Grade and Reading Recovery at Herty Elementary School. In her younger years, she taught Bible School and GAs. She enjoyed taking care of others.
Johnie Ruth was tender hearted, had a true love for people, her family, and wouldn't let anyone or any animal go hungry. She truly had a servant's heart and lived a life faithful to Christ.
Survivors include her husband, Travis Ainsworth of Lufkin; daughter, Suzanne Kouts and husband David Khosroabadi of Lufkin; son, Patric Ainsworth and wife Audra of McKinney; son, Mark Ainsworth of Lufkin; grandchildren, Adam and wife Shelly Ainsworth, Zachary and wife Arley Ainsworth, Connor Ainsworth, Kaitlin Kouts, Kasey Kouts, Tristan Ainsworth, Ivy Ainsworth, Arash Khosroabadi, Pejhmaun Khosroabadi, and Anahita Khosroabadi; 9 great-grandchildren; sister, Nada Minshew and husband Donald; brother, Lawrence “Buddy” Jordan and wife Susie; sisters-in-law, Sue Jordan and Betty Riley; and numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family who were all special to her.
In addition to her parents, Mrs. Ainsworth was preceded in death by her brother and sister-in-law, Vernon “Hoople” and Wilma Jordan; sisters and brothers-in-law, Fredonia and Homer Eubanks and Dillie and Kent McGaughey; and brother, Dexter Jordan.
Pallbearers Kasey Kouts, Connor Ainsworth, Tristan Ainsworth, Sean Ainsworth, Dominic Ainsworth, and Levi Ainsworth.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. until service time on Saturday at Harmony Hill Baptist Church.
