Mr. Mott was born October 30, 1924 in Zavalla, Texas, the son of the late Ollie (Jones) and Ocie Earl Mott. He passed away Tuesday, March 13, 2018 in Houston.
Mr. Mott moved to Lufkin as a young boy and then proudly served his country in the United States Army during World War II. He then attended Tech School studying the dry cleaning industry. He owned a business in Lufkin and then in Houston. He was a devout Christian man and served in several churches throughout his life. He loved and honored his biological family; his wife, daughter, in-laws and his church family. After 25 years of “city life”, he bought acreage outside Houston and used his boyhood country roots to tend cattle, horses, and many small animals for gatherings at his home. He always loved hunting, fishing, and taking care of these animals. He looked for the good in people and searched out ways to help those in need. He will be missed on this earth and in the hearts of those who loved him.
Mr. Mott is survived by his daughter and son-in-law, Carolyn and Drew Perkins; grandchildren, Clint, Laura and Jennifer; great-grandchildren, Michael, Luke, Emily, Grant, Kendall and Gabriella; and many beloved in-laws that he counted as family.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 6 brothers and sisters.
