Services for Larry Monday, 76, of Lufkin, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, December 26, 2023 in the Elwyn M. Gipson Memorial Chapel, in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park with Bro. Blackie Cranford officiating. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Larry was born July 30, 1947 in Wells, Texas, the son of the late Marjorie (McKinney) and Winfred Leroy Monday. He passed away Thursday, December 21, 2023 in a Conroe hospital.
Larry was a loving husband and brother, and loved his wife of 58 years. He loved his Lord, his life, his land and his dog. Larry served his country in the United States Navy during Vietnam. He learned to work at an early age, becoming a mechanic and worked at Gibbs Motor Company. He will be remembered for his compassion for others, his sense of humor and his generous heart. He was deeply loved and will be missed by his family and friends.
Survivors include his wife, Dorothy Wright Monday of Lufkin; sisters, Mary Monday Lowery of Phoenix, Arizona and Linda Monday Hofmann (Matt Duran) of Willis; brother, Mario Danna of Lufkin; and his beloved dog Dixie.
