

Mr. Minshew was born October 26,1934 in Boomtown Texas, the son of the late Haskel and Fannie Minshew. He passed away Tuesday December 9,2025 in Lake Jackson.
Mr. Minshew was retired from Southern Pacific Railroad, following 44 years of employment. He was a graduate of Centerville High School and was a member of the First Baptist Church of Groveton. He enjoyed playing Chicken Foot dominoes, gardening, making music CDs for friends with Music Match, baking cakes and pies, and eating ice cream and Nutty Buddys. He was a passionate Houston Astros and Texas Rangers Baseball fan. His favorite singer was Hank Williams.
Survivors include his children , Steve Minshew, Tim Minshew and wife Donna, Kim Thompson and husband Doug and Kim Bright and husband Ben; grandchildren , Daniel Minshew, James Minshew and wife Carly, Heather Minshew, Unity Booth and husband Hunter, Matthew Greenwood and wife Jessica, Andrew Greenwood, Will Thompson, John Thompson, Kyle Thompson and wife Sydney, Alina Thompson and Nick and Violette Bright; great-grandchildren, Ava Greenwood, Evelyn and Ivy Booth, Terra and Asher Minshew, Aaron, Noah and Sam Wingard, and Carson, Lilly and Lucas; sibling, Thomas Minshew, Dora Hooker and Nora Polvadore.
Preceded in death by his wife, Betty Lou Davis, mother, Fannie Minshew; father, Haskel Minshew; sister-in-law Gwanda Minshew; son, (Pete) James Haskel; brother, Jim Minshew; daughter, Suzanne Greenwood; and sister, Jean Howse.
Pallbearers will be Stephen Minshew, James Minshew, Thomas Minshew, Daniel Minshew, Andrew Greenwood and Kyle Thompson.
Honorary pallbearers will be Steve Greenwood, Nick Bright and Doug Thompson
Mr. Minshew's family wishes to give special thanks to all of his nurses and aides at Woodland Methodist Hospital, Memorial Herman Hospital and IPH Hospice for helping us through the past 3 months and giving our father great comfort and care
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. till service time on Sunday at Gipson Funeral Home. Evening at the funeral home.
