

Services for Linda Sue Mangum, 58, of Zavalla, will be held at 3:00 p.m. Wednesday, September 4, 2013 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Reverend Horace Fletcher officiating. Interment will follow in the Whitehouse Cemetery.
Linda was born February 25, 1955 in Nacogdoches, Texas, the daughter of Virginia (Moore) Sargent and the late Ray Sargent. She passed away Monday, September 2, 2013 at her residence.
Linda was a loving and devoted wife, mother, and grandmother. She loved her family, especially her grandchildren. She enjoyed playing on the computer and watching her grandson play baseball. She was born in Nacogdoches and attended school in Etoile. She married Billy Mangum on September 10, 1992. Linda was an apartment manager for 12 years in Houston. She moved back to Lufkin 2007 and worked for Polks, where she became manager until her health wouldn’t let her work any longer. She was a member of Hillcrest Baptist Church.
Survivors include her husband, Billy Mangum of Zavalla; daughter, Crystal Mangum of Willis; daughters and sons-in-law, Christa and Tracy Johnson of Killeen and Belinda and Keith Hubbard of Houston; sons and daughters-in-law, Jason and Brandi Burt of Zavalla and Jason and Erika Mangum of Willis; son, Scotty Mangum of Zavalla; 16 grandchildren; sisters, Elaine Ragsdale of Nacogdoches and Marie Sargent of Nacogdoches; brother and sister-in-law, Ricky and Angie Sargent of Beaumont; mother, Virginia Sargent of Nacogdoches; and a number of other family members and friends.
In addition to her father, Linda was preceded in death by her sister, Ann Sargent.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Snoe, Jacob Snoe, Otis Carter, Roger Wells, Robert Havard and Tracy Johnson.
