Linda Gayle (Deauman) Shumaker

Funeral service for Linda Gayle Shumaker, 70, of Wells will be held at 2PM on Monday, February 10, 2025, at Gipson Funeral Home with Bro. Jim Maddox officiating. Linda will be laid to rest at Durham Cemetery in Pollok.

Ms. Shumaker was born January 14, 1955, in Lufkin, Texas, daughter of Linda Gertrude (Redd) and James Burris Shumaker. She passed away on Tuesday, February 4, 2025, in a local hospital.

Linda was deeply loved by her children and grandchildren. She was very funny and never met a stranger; her laughter will always be remembered. Linda loved her Lord and Savior. She knew her bible and loved to study it. In 1974, she graduated from Wells High School where she later worked. She was also employed by Wells Nursing Home and the Lufkin State Supported Living Center. Linda enjoyed fishing, playing her music and taking care of her fur babies, she had over the years.

Survivors include mother, Linda Gertrude Hearne of Wells; daughters, Christiana Greenville of Pollok and Ashley Hadaway and Brandon Stephens of Hudson; grandchildren, Chelsea Christian, Chandler Christian, Kenton Christian, Ashton Stephens, Laurynn Stephens, Jaxson Stephens, Jordan Stephens, Jacob Waldron, and Kayla Waldron; great-grandchild, Donald Ducharme; brothers, Michael Clark Shumaker, Dale Gene Shumaker, Gary Dean “Tanker” Shumaker, Dennis Bailey Shumaker; and Clifton Ray Hearne; nieces, Molly Shumaker and Marilyn Williams; and other numerous relatives.

She was preceded in death by her father; grandparents, Mama and Papa Shumaker, and Ma Redd; dear friend, Martha Ann Harrison.

Pallbearers will be Clifton Hearne, Mark Hall, Cody Durham, James Parnell, Brandon Stephens, and Donnie Goodwin.

Honorary pallbearers will be Dale Shumaker, Michael Shumaker, Gary Shumaker, Dennis Shumaker.

The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Monday at the funeral home.
