My deepest condolences to Lonnie’s family and loved ones. His legacy will live on through you.

Most of my favorite memories from my pre-teen/teen years are with Lonnie.  He was a great brother-in-law. One memory is from when I was 14. I went camping with him and my sister.  One morning he and I got up early and went out in the flat bottom to go fishing.  As we (mostly him) caught fish he would put them on a string hanging over the side of the boat.  I finally caught about a 3 or 4-pound bass, my first.  We were both so excited. So much fun reeling it in with him cheering me on every time the fish tried to swim away.  I reeled it in and he added it to the string. A little while later we decide to head in. I look back behind the motor as we are moving along and see several fish and think to myself "wow, maybe we should stop here". Then I look down in the boat and don't see the string of fish. I say "umm. Lonnie? Where are the fish?"  He says a choice word ;-) and shuts off the motor. We had my fish and a couple of heads left. One side of my fish was cut up but we were still able to get a picture.  We have laughed at this story many times over the years
