Lourdes S. Garcia

Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, December 30, 2017, for Lourdes “Doña Lula” Garcia, at Our Lady of Guadalupe Catholic Church in Diboll, with Father Luis Arroyave, M. S., celebrant. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.

Rosary will be recited at 7:00 p.m. Friday evening, December 29, 2017 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel. Visitation will be from 5:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. Friday evening in Gipson Funeral Home Chapel.

She was born on May 23, 1929 in El Cedrito, Mexico, the daughter of the late Petra (Espinosa) and Apolonio Sifuentes, and passed away December 27, 2017 in Lufkin.

Doña Lula was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She loved all types of music and enjoyed gardening, especially roses, as they were her favorite flower. She also enjoyed working crossword puzzles.

Survivors include daughter, Alicia Capetillo; son and wife, Isidro Homero Vasquez and Juany, all of Diboll; three grandchildren, Miguel Angel and Elizabeth of Diboll, Isela Vasquez of Garland, and Isidro Homero Vasquez, Jr. of Diboll; three great-grandchildren, Aryssa Elizabeth Vasquez, Miguel Angel Vasquez, Jr. and Matteo Aiden Vasquez; and a host of nieces, nephews and other relatives.

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Crispin Garcia; one brother; and four sisters.

Pallbearers will be Isidro Homero Vasquez, Sr., Miguel Angel Vasquez, Sr., Isidro Homero Vasquez, Jr., Oscar Villanueva, Jorge Esparza and Alejandro Escamilla.

Honorary pallbearers will be Miguel Angel Vasquez, Jr. and Matteo Aiden Vasquez.
