Services for Alma Lucile (Cele) Weeks, 92, of Lufkin, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 15, 2018 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park. Mrs. Weeks went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, June 9, 2018. Cele was born in Sagle, Louisiana on July 21, 1925 to Meance M. Mary Alice (Pearson) Fontenot. Cele is survived by her sister, Jane F. Horn; grandson, Richard Jones and wife Kimberly; grandson, Robert and wife Lauren; nephew, J. Stacy Horn and wife Brenda; niece, Luanne Humphrey and husband Bruce; and great-grandchildren, Angel, Dean and Samantha Jones. In addition to her parents, Cele was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Robert Weeks; her daughter, Amy Christina Jones; and her brother, Joseph Garland Fontenot. Cele graduated from Lufkin High School in 1942 and later from Mary Harden Baylor, where she earned her Bachelors in Education. She earned a Master’s in Education from the University of Houston. Cele met Robert Weeks and they married in 1950. She worked as a teacher in Lufkin, Brazosport and Harlingen. Bob and Cele had one daughter, Amy Christina Jones and two grandsons, Richard Jones and Robert Sterling. Cele and Bob were active members of First Baptist Church in Tyler. They enjoyed serving, making crafts and creating décor for the church. Education, collecting antiques and cooking were her passions. Being a grandmother was one of greatest joys. She led a faithful life and will be greatly missed by all who loved her. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions in Cele’s memory may be made to a charity or organization of your choosing. Suggestions are the Wounded Warrior Project, Boys and Girls Club of American, or the Salvation Army. The family will receive friends from 12:30 p.m. until service time on Friday at Gipson Funeral Home. Biography

Services for Alma Lucile (Cele) Weeks, 92, of Lufkin, will be held at 2:00 p.m. Friday, June 15, 2018 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in the Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mrs. Weeks went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Saturday, June 9, 2018. Cele was born in Sagle, Louisiana on July 21, 1925 to Meance M. Mary Alice (Pearson) Fontenot.
Cele is survived by her sister, Jane F. Horn; grandson, Richard Jones and wife Kimberly; grandson, Robert and wife Lauren; nephew, J. Stacy Horn and wife Brenda; niece, Luanne Humphrey and husband Bruce; and great-grandchildren, Angel, Dean and Samantha Jones.
In addition to her parents, Cele was preceded in death by her husband of 59 years, Robert Weeks; her daughter, Amy Christina Jones; and her brother, Joseph Garland Fontenot.
