Services for Mary E. Wick Carroll, 77, of Lufkin, will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, July 5, 2018 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel, with Dwayne Thornton officiating. Interment will follow in the Wallace Chapel Cemetery. Mrs. Carroll was born November 4, 1940 in Lufkin, Texas, the daughter of the late Delma (Williams) and Edward Francis Wick. She passed away Monday, July 2, 2018 in a Nacogdoches nursing facility. Mrs. Carroll was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother. She loved her family and her church family. She was a homemaker and had worked as a bookkeeper. Mrs. Carroll was a member of Herty Baptist Church. Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, Kel Dean and Brenda Carroll; daughter and son-in-law, Liz and Steve Reece; granddaughter, Jennifer Allen and husband Ronnie; grandson, Brian Carroll and wife Amanda; granddaughter, Kacie Carroll; great-granddaughters, Jada Harris-Taylor, Salaira Carroll and Summer Reece; brothers, “Richard” Jackie Wick and Kenneth Wick; niece, Tonya Newman; and nephews, William Cornell and Waymon Cornell, Jr. In addition to her parents, Mrs. Carroll was preceded in death by her husband, Hubert Carroll; granddaughter, Rebecca Steveson; and sister, Alice Faye Cornell. Pallbearers will be Brian Carroll, Ronnie Allen, Steve Reece, Doug Deaton, Leon Heaton and Joe Moran Friends are invited to visit with the family from 10:00 a.m. until service time at the funeral home.
