

Mrs. Curry was born on December 5, 1945, in Dededo, Guam to the late Julia Iriarte and Pedro Evaristo. She was a longtime resident of Huntington and will be remembered by her family, friends, and all who had the privilege of knowing her.
Mary married Rufus Curry on February 14, 2021. They were married for a blessed 25 and half years. She attended to Shawnee Church of Jesus Christ. Mary did volunteer work at VA clinic in Lufkin, TX for well over 5 years, receiving many plaques towards for her gracious service.
Survivors include children, Vivian M. Getro and husband, Scott from Richmond, TX, Clay A. Acosta and wife, Shirley from Norfolk, VA, Lucy Davidson and husband, Phil from Anchorage, Alaska, Gilbert H. Acosta, Jr. and wife, Donna from Lufkin, TX, and Ernest J. Acosta from Lufkin, TX; grandchildren, Larry Jordan and Brandon Getro, Lydia Jordan, Clay Acosta, Jr., Austin Acosta, Breanna Acosta, Jessica Davis, Heather Acosta, Ashley Acosta, Anna Acosta, and Grayson Acosta; step-granddaughter, Felicia Labrozzi; 15 great-grandchildren; and numerous other relatives.
She was preceded in death by stepdaughter, Patty Labrozzi; grandson Gilbert “Max” Acosta III; and great great-granddaughter, Paisley Atkinson.
Visitation will be held on Saturday, August 29, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. at Shawnee Church of Jesus Christ, 15389 US-69, Huntington, TX 75949. A Celebration of Life will follow at 11:00 a.m. at the church.
A Committal Service will take place at Sims–Rocky Hill.
Pallbearers will be Lydia Jordan, Brandon Getro, Kevin Tullos, Keith Sharp, John Maldanado, and Josh Havard.
The family would like to extend a special thanks to Brother Modisette for performing the service. Thank you to Shawnee Church for providing the meal and for all their services and love and support they’ve shown to our beloved mother. Thank you to all that attended her service. She was blessed to have known so many wonderful people.
Also a special thanks to our wonderful, loving, and blessed stepdad, Rufus Curry. We all love and adore you, Rufus.
Mary will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by those whose lives she touched. May she rest in eternal peace.
