Mary Janeen Dorsett, 80, of Lufkin passed away on Saturday, July 27, 2024, at the Southland Rehabilitation and Healthcare Center. She was born August 21, 1943 in Lufkin, Texas, daughter of the late Dorothy (Smith) and C.B. Dorsett.
Mrs. Dorsett was an artist, she enjoyed painting landscape pictures and wrote verses on the pottery on the reserve. She taught the Navaho Indian Reserve Children until her retirement. She enjoyed the farm life and taking care of her horse and other animals.
She is survived by her brother, Charles Dorsett of Campbell, Texas.
Mary is preceded in death by her parents and sister, Martha Janett Dorsett.
