Services for Mary Tarver, 74, of Huntington, will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, March 21, 2018 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel with Reverend Horace Fletcher officiating. Interment will follow in the Broaddus Cemetery.
Mary was born September 27, 1943 in Lufkin, the daughter of the late Leoma (Atkinson) and Charlie Barber. She passed away Friday, March 16, 2018 in Lufkin.
Mary Tarver spent her life loving to travel as much as she could, sewing quilts for her family and friends, cooking for anyone and everyone at any time, baking desserts to just give away, fishing all the time until she couldn’t anymore, and spending every second she had with family and friends.
Mary is survived by her husband, James Tarver of Huntington; daughter, Tammy Kenner of Huntington; daughter, Jennifer Rodriguez of Edinburg; stepsons, Thomas Crick of Helotes and Ricky Tarver of Huntington; stepdaughter, Tammy Johnson of Zavalla; sister, Billie Urban of Schulenburg; and a number of grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family members.
Mary was preceded in death by her first husband, Paul Crick; parents, son, Donald Crick; sister, Nell Ramsey; and brothers, Charlie Barber Jr. and Albert Barber.
Mary will be escorted to her final resting place by pallbearers: Dustin Crick, Matthew Johnson, Richard Tarver, Steven Urban, Colton Urban, Garrett Toler, Joshua Rodriguez, and Theodore Perez.
Honorary pallbearer for Mary will be James Ramsey.
