Funeral service for Maudarie Bishop Conner, 97, of Diboll, will be held at 2 PM on Wednesday, November 22, 2023 in the Gipson Funeral Home Chapel officiated by Jay Wyatt and Eddie Hopkins. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Memorial Park.
Mrs. Conner was born August 17, 1926 in Diboll, Texas, daughter to the late Millie Francis Walker and Seamster O’Neil Bishop. She passed away Sunday, November 19, 2023 in her residence.
Maudarie was a lifelong resident of Diboll. She was of Baptist Faith and attended Burke Baptist Church and First Baptist Church of Diboll. Maudarie and Robert were livelong hunters and fisherman, and she was a member of the Burke Eastern Star.
Maudarie leaves her family legacy of strength in her surviving family members-son and daughter in law Ricky and Tammy Conner of Diboll, daughter Pat Carpenter of Austin, grandchildren Candy Wienhold and husband Gus, Carrie Barbour and husband Wes, Liz Blancato and husband Joe, all from the Austin area. Great grandchildren Dylan Wienhold, Bo Wienhold and Burton Blancato.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Robert Conner Sr., her son Robert Conner Jr., her brothers Willie Bishop and Davis O’Neal Bishop, and her sister Millie Brown.
In lieu of flowers, the family would like donations to be made to the Burke Eastern Star, 126 Blue Jay St., Burke, TX.
The family will receive friends from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. Wednesday afternoon at the funeral home.
